At Jax I bought her some beautiful slacks and decorative Emilio Pucci sport shirts. To prepare for this shoot, Barris went shopping for Marilyn before and is quoted in his book as saying “On my shopping spree for Marilyn, I went to two of her favorite stores, Jax on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Marilyn Monroe was photographed by George Barris for the Cosmopolitan magazine, at Walter 'Tim' Leimert's house, a real estate tycoon, friend of the photographer, whose villa is at 1506 Blue Jay Way in the Nord Hollywood hills.
