Roomies book review5/11/2023 ![]() They love each other unconditionally, support and sacrifice for each other, and hold each other accountable to their actions. They family dynamic they have is one to be envied. I love Irish accents so hearing Calvin’s voice in my head was pure joy!Īdditionally, Holland leans heavily on her two uncles throughout this book. ![]() This is one of the few books I’ve read in which I read the dialogue in the applicable accent for every character. The cultural heritage of characters is introduced quickly. Holland’s Uncle Robert is from Ghana and her love interest, Calvin, is from Ireland. The story is set in New York city and Christina did a fantastic job portraying the “melting pot” that is not just that city through the cast of characters. ![]() The same is true of Roomies, but a lot of what I enjoyed did not involve the romance itself. ![]() At this point, I can safely guarantee a good time reading pretty much any Christina Lauren book. ![]()
